Blade Runner 2049 headlines Rakuten’s move into Dolby Vision and Atmos movies

Rakuten has become the first Video on Demand service in Europe to offer films featuring Dolby Vision high dynamic range (HDR) imaging and Dolby Atmos sound technologies

The line-up of movies includes both recent releases and catalogue titles, including Blade Runner 2049, Flatliners 2017, 2012, 5th Wave, Baby Driver, Bad Boys II, Billy Lynn Halftime Walk, Elysium, Emoji Movie, Inferno, Life, Passengers, Pixels, Resident Evil Final Chapter, Rough Night, Salt, Smurfs: The lost village, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Spiderman: Homecoming, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Dark Tower and Trainspotting 2.

The movies, which can be watched on LG-brand smart TVs, are available in UK, Spain, Italy, Germany and France and are planned to be released in the coming weeks in a total of 12 countries.

“Through our collaboration with Dolby and LG, consumers will be able to feel like being at the cinema from the comfort of their own living room, watching their favourite Hollywood releases with the best image and audio quality.”
