EE is still offering six months free access to MTV Play

20th September 2019 - StreamedTV

EE customers can still get 6 months free access to MTV Play, the broadcaster’s on-demand and streaming app, as well as inclusive mobile data when using the service.

First announced in March, the offer is available to both existing and new EE customers and can be claimed until March 2021 through the EE website, My EE app or by texting MTV to 150.

The service normally costs £3.99 per month but the offer means EE customers can access it completely free of charge for the entire six month period and can stream as many of their favourite MTV shows as they like without it counting towards their plan’s mobile data allowance.

MTV Play’s library includes the latest episodes of current series for you to catch up on, as well as boxsets so you can binge on past seasons.

Shows available include hits such as Teen Mom UK, Geordie Shore, the Pink Casino sponsored The Charlotte Show, Catfish, The Hills and Jersey Shore.

Speaking earlier this year, MTV’s Arran Tindall said: “MTV Play puts all MTV’s very latest and most popular content in the hands of its young fans via a standalone streaming application for the first time and we’re excited to be partnering with the UK’s leading mobile network to make it available to the widest possible audience.

“MTV Play will offer all their favourite reality shows on-demand and on-the-go and we believe it can quickly become a ‘must-have’ entertainment choice for today’s mobile-first consumers.”

EE has previously offered free access to Amazon’s Prime Video and its mobile plans now include the option to choose data inclusive ‘Swappable Benefits’ such as a Video Data Pass which allows unlimited streaming from a range of Video on Demand services, including Netflix, YouTube, BBC iPlayer, BT Sport and Prime Video.

Selected plans include one or more bundled ‘Swappable Benefits’ and the Video Data Pass can also be added to non-qualifying plans for £8.99 per month.

Other options include a Music Data Pass for Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and Deezer users and the BT Sport app which offers live and on-demand access to BT’s Premier League, UEFA Champions League, boxing and UFC coverage. EE customers on a 5G plan can also enjoy HDR.

The MTV Play app is available as a free download in the Apple and Android app stores.
