Sky’s Now TV puts planned price increase “on hold”

5th May 2014 - StreamedTV

now_tv_boxNow TV, the Sky-owned streaming service, has dropped plans for a price increase just days after announcing the hike.

The service offers contract-free access to Sky’s movie, entertainment and sports channels via apps, smart TV platforms and a dedicated Now TV box.

A one day subscription to Sky Sports costs £9.99, while a monthly movie and entertainment ‘pass’ cost £8.99 and £4.99 respectively.

Prices were set to rise from May 29th with the cost of an entertainment ‘pass’ rising to £6.99 and a Sky Movies monthly pass increasing to £9.99.

However the company says the planned increase has now been “put on hold”.

It’s unclear whether the decision is connected to a number of recent technical woes experienced by users who have found themselves unable to access the service during peak times.
