Top Amazon Prime Video shows you won’t want to miss

2nd July 2016 by StreamedTV

Over the past 12 months Amazon Prime Video has been steadily building up a catalogue of high-quality dramas as it battles with rival Netflix for the nation’s subscriptions.

Here are our top picks:

The Man in the High Castle

Based on the Philip K Dick story of the same name, this alternate history series is set in a post World War II America which has been partitioned by Japan and Germany.

Packed with intrigue and mystery, the show has deservedly won accolades and rave reviews, including for its beautifully designed costumes and sets.

Newcomers won’t want too miss it and fans will be pleased to know it’s been renewed for a second series.

The Girlfriend Experience

Christine (Riley Keough); Martin Bayley (Aidan Devine)What initially looks like a lightweight and frothy tale of a young legal intern who enters the world of high class prostitution quickly takes a dark and sinister turn into the world of corporate scandal.

The compulsive plot lines and short episode length – each runs only 30 minutes – makes this perfect for boxset bingers.

Unreal

unreal_splash_900Set behind the scenes of a reality TV dating show, this sassy drama should appeal to fans of BBC One’s Hotel Babylon and Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

There’s scheming and backstabbing aplenty as the contestants and production team battle it out for romance, position and power.

Fear The Walking Dead

The show explains the origins of the Zombie Apocalypse shown in The Walking Dead and chronicles the transformation of an ordinary family into battle-hardened survivors.

Non-BT customers can catch-up with the entire first series on Amazon Prime Video ahead of the second season’s arrival later this year.

Amazon Prime Video is free to Amazon Prime customers and is also available on a stand-alone subscription.
