Horror fans are being invited to sign up for early, invite-only access to Shudder, AMC’s horror themed streaming service which is coming to the UK this Autumn.
A joint venture with DramaFever, the US version of the subscription site offers around 200 movies, including genre classic Nosferatu, and recently announced its first exclusive TV series, Beyond the Walls.
The service is currently only available via browsers but reports claim AMC are keen to bring the platform to streaming boxes and devices in order to boost take-up.
The cable broadcaster has a “multi-year” tie-up with BT for UK version of AMC Global, so it’s possible that content from the service could be available to BT customers, or that the YouView platform which powers BT TV could be one of the first to offer a standalone Shudder app.
Other likely candidates include Roku’s range of streaming boxes, the Apple TV and Amazon’s Fire TV Stick and box.
