Sky has updated its NOW TV offering to include contract-free broadband, calls and a new set-top box which combines streamed channels with those available via the aerial.
Customers can add NOW TV’s entertainment, sports and movies viewing packs alongside free catch-up content from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and Demand 5.
The new set top box, which was first announced earlier this year, also includes the ability to pause live-TV for up to 30 minutes.
An updated user interface includes a new homepage offering recommendations of “the best shows from all the channels” which are updated throughout the day.
Integrating NOW TV and Freeview channels for the first time, the updated box will allow Sky to better compete against BT and TalkTalk’s low priced TV services which are also delivered via broadband and include a mix of pay channels alongside Freeview’s aerial-delivered channels.
It will also compete with the new internet-connected Freeview Play set top boxes.
The new packages will go on sale later this year, with prices starting from just £9.99 a month plus line rental, and the new box will be available to buy standalone for £39.99.
Gidon Katz, Managing Director of NOW TV said: “NOW TV has got something for everyone – TV they love to watch, when they want and on their own terms.
“It’s why we’re not stopping there. With the NOW TV Combo, we’re pushing the boundaries again with the UK’s first contract-free triple play bundle.
“Plus, our customers will get the benefits of our new NOW TV Smart Box that brings together free-to-air and Pay TV shows seamlessly.
“We know people want the freedom and control of a no strings relationship when it comes to choosing their TV, broadband and call package, so the NOW TV Combo is the product and service they deserve.”
