Andy Wilman on bringing Jeremy Clarkson, James May & Richard Hammond back to the small screen

26th August 2016 by StreamedTV

We’re now just months away from launch of The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson, James May & Richard Hammond’s new Amazon Prime Video motoring show and series producer Andy Wilman has been telling audiences at the Edinburgh International Television Festival how he and the trio created their new show.

As well as the challenges behind creating a whole new format, including the legal restrictions the BBC placed on them, Wilman discusses the background to his and Clarkson’s souring relationship with BBC bosses and the how it meant there was no way to move on from Clarkson’s punching of a Top Gear producer:

The Grand Tour is being produced by W Chump & Sons which was set up by the four and will be available to anyone with an Amazon Prime subscription or standalone monthly subscription to the Prime Video service.

The service can be accessed on selected Smart TVs, via smartphone and tablet apps and via Amazon’s Fire TV stick and Fire TV.
